Tulsa Men's Tennis Team Achieves Highest Ranking in School History

The Golden Hurricane moves up four spots from No. 12 to No. 8

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's tennis team achieved the highest ranking in school history in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings. The team moved up four spots from No. 12 to No. 8. TU's previous highest ranking was No. 12 in last week's ranking.

The Golden Hurricane will next head to the 2008 Blue / Gray National Collegiate Tennis Classic on Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16. At the Blue / Gray Classic, Tulsa will have the honor of the No. 1 seed and will face No. 60 William & Mary at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The winner will advance to play the winner of the No. 49 NC State and No. 30 Notre Dame on Friday. The Blue / Gray Classic will also include: No. 19 Virginia Commonwealth, No. 21 Alabama, No. 24 Oklahoma State, No. 25 Texas Tech, No. 28 Auburn, No. 35 Boise State, No. 46 Oklahoma, No. 48 Fresno State, No. 64 Wisconsin, No. 65 Penn State, Brown and Furman.

TU is currently the highest ranked Conference USA team, followed closely by Rice, who is ranked No. 11. The next team and individual rankings will be released on Tuesday, March 18.

Tulsa will next play at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday, March 22 against the seventh-ranked University of Southern California Trojans at noon.
