Tulsa Hosts Oral Roberts, Future WAC Member Boise State:
Tulsa (10-9) remains home this week for two matches against crosstown rival Oral Roberts (10-4) and future Western Athletic Conference member Boise State (8-10).

On Thursday, April 5, TU squares off against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Thursday's contest marks the second meeting between the schools this season. TU opened the 2001 spring season with a 6-1 victory over ORU on Jan. 27.

TU winds up its four-match homestand against Boise State on Saturday, April 7 at 9:00 a.m. The last time Tulsa and Boise State met was at the 1996 H.E.B. Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas. In that match, the Broncos topped the Hurricane, 5-1.

Both matches will be played at the Harwell Tennis Courts on the TU campus.

TU Splits With Tulane, NC State:
In two home matches last week at the Harwell Tennis Courts, Tulsa fell to Tulane and defeated North Carolina State.

Last Friday, the 43rd-ranked Tulane Green Wave won the doubles point and five singles contests to hand 47th-ranked Tulsa a 6-1 loss.

A day later, TU swept all three doubles matches and captured five of six singles contests to crush North Carolina State, 6-1.

Monk Continues Tear:
Sean Monk (Las Vegas, Nev.) improved to 21-4 overall and 16-2 in dual action with two wins last week.  He has won five straight matches and a total of 12 of his last 13 contests. Eight wins shy of breaking into the school's top-10 all-time career singles victories, Monk's 21 wins to date are a single-season career best.

McGregor Remains Among Nation's Top Singles Players:
In this week's WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings, Dane McGregor (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) is the 54th-ranked singles player in the country. McGregor broke into the national polls at No. 64 in the Feb. 24, 2001, edition of the WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings and was ranked as high as No. 39 on March 7. For the season, he is 19-6 overall, 15-2 in dual matches and 5-1 against nationally-ranked opponents.

Sudhakara, McGregor Ranked No. 30 Nationally:
Tulsa's top doubles team of juniors Dane McGregor and Shriranga Sudhakara (Bangalore, India) is ranked as the 30th-best doubles team in America. McGregor and Sudhakara are 14-7 overall in 2000-01 and 12-4 during the spring season.

Monk Named WAC Player of the Week:
Tulsa junior Sean Monk has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 19-25.

For the week, Monk went undefeated in matches against New Mexico State and No. 37 UNLV on March 24 and 25, respectively, in Las Vegas.

Monk claimed a three-set decision over New Mexico State's Ludo Barthe.  After dropping the first set, 1-6, Monk rallied to win the second and third sets, 6-3, 7-6.  A day later, Monk faced a similar scenario, down 3-6 in the first only to storm back, 6-3, 6-2, to defeat Leslie Eisinga of UNLV.
