Tulsa Men's Tennis Weekly Release #6 April 3, 2001
Tulsa Hosts Oral Roberts, Future WAC Member Boise State: On Thursday, April 5, TU squares off against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Thursday's contest marks the second meeting between the schools this season. TU opened the 2001 spring season with a 6-1 victory over ORU on Jan. 27. TU winds up its four-match homestand against Boise State on Saturday, April 7 at 9:00 a.m. The last time Tulsa and Boise State met was at the 1996 H.E.B. Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas. In that match, the Broncos topped the Hurricane, 5-1. Both matches will be played at the Harwell Tennis Courts on the TU campus.
TU Splits With Tulane, NC State: Last Friday, the 43rd-ranked Tulane Green Wave won the doubles point and five singles contests to hand 47th-ranked Tulsa a 6-1 loss. A day later, TU swept all three doubles matches and captured five of six singles contests to crush North Carolina State, 6-1.

Monk Named WAC Player of the Week: For the week, Monk went undefeated in matches against New Mexico State and No. 37 UNLV on March 24 and 25, respectively, in Las Vegas.
Monk claimed a three-set decision over New Mexico State's Ludo Barthe. After dropping the first set, 1-6, Monk rallied to win the second and third sets, 6-3, 7-6. A day later, Monk faced a similar scenario, down 3-6 in the first only to storm back, 6-3, 6-2, to defeat Leslie Eisinga of UNLV.
