SKILLMAN, N.J. - Senior Japie De Klerk and junior Alejandro Espejo of the University of Tulsa men's tennis team enters the ranking at No. 59 in the International Tennis Association poll released on Tuesday.

The duo has posted a 14-8 record this season, including a 12-7 record in dual competition at the No. 2 doubles position. They also have a 5-0 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 6-0 record against regionally ranked opponents.

De Klerk and Espejo are coming off two wins against ranked opponents with an 8-6 win over USF's doubles team of No. 53 Oliver Pramming and Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz to tie the doubles point and an 8-7 (6) win over No. 17 Dane Webb and Andrew Harris of Oklahoma to clinch the doubles point for Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane has another duo ranked of senior Clifford Marsland and sophomore Dylan McCloskey at No. 24.

Marsland and McCloskey has posted a 12-9 record this season, including a 10-8 record at the No. 1 doubles position.

The Golden Hurricane also has two singles athletes ranked in the top-90. De Klerk is ranked No. 67 and has posted a 10-12 overall record this season, including an 8-7 record at the No. 1 singles position.

Marsland is also ranked at No. 87 and has posted a 13-6 record this season, including a 10-4 record at the No. 2 singles position.

The men's team dropped two spots from No. 39 to No. 41, while the women's team dropped a spot from No. 19 to No. 20.

The men's team travels to Columbus, Ohio to face host No. 1 Ohio State on Friday at 5 p.m., before returning home for a doubleheader on Sunday with Incarnate Word at 10 a.m. and Oral Roberts at 3 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

 

 

The women's team hosts its final home match of the season against No. 38 Memphis before the start of the Conference USA Tournament in Norfolk, Va.
