IRVING, Texas - For the eighth straight season, No. 41 University of Tulsa men's tennis team received the No. 1 seed in the Conference USA Championships this weekend at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, announced by the league on Monday.

The Golden Hurricane has posted a 19-2 (.905) as the No. 1 seed with five conference titles in seven seasons.

The Hurricane is hosting the men's tennis tournament for the third time in the last nine years and has posted a perfect 6-0 record in Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane also hosted the 2006 and 2011 C-USA Men's Tennis Championship and won both of those tournaments.

In eight seasons with the Conference USA, the Golden Hurricane has posted a 22-2 (.917) tournament record and has won six C-USA titles.

Tulsa is one of 11 teams competing in the tournament. The 10 other teams are Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB and UTSA.

The tournament starts with three matches on Thursday with match No. 1 of No. 7 UAB and No. 10 UTSA and match 2 of No. 6 Charlotte and No. 11 Florida Atlantic at 10 a.m., while match 3 of No. 8 Old Dominion and No. 9 Southern Miss is at 2 p.m.

The tournament continues with four matches on Friday. Match No. 4 consists of the winner of match No. 1 and No. 2 Tulane and match No. 5 is between the winner of match No. 2 and No. 3 East Carolina at 10 a.m. Match No. 6 is between No. 4 Middle Tennessee and No. 5 Rice and match No. 7 is the winner of match No. 3 and No. 1 Tulsa at 2 p.m.

The winners of match No. 4 and No. 5 plays at noon and the winners of Match No. 6 and No. 7 also plays at noon on Saturday.

The final two winners face off at 11 a.m. on Sunday to determine the champion.
