Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men's tennis team received the NCAA Public Recognition Award for ranking among the top 10 percent nationally in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores released today.

The men's tennis team turned in a perfect score of 1000, to rank in the top 10 percentile of all Division I teams across all sports. It is the fourth-straight year that the men's tennis program has recorded a perfect score.

The Golden Hurricane was one of 11 Conference USA athletic teams and five league schools to receive the award.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. Eligibility, retention and graduation are components in the calculation of the APR, which shows a picture of the academic culture in each sport.
