Today's "Hurricane Spotlight" features Tulsa men's tennis senior Japie De Klerk.

De Klerk has posted a 13-13 record this season, including a 12-8 record in dual competition and an 11-8 record at the No. 1 singles position. De Klerk is ranked No. 76 in the International Tennis Association poll released on Tuesday, May 1 and was named to the All-Conference USA Singles First Team.

The Ashton, South Africa native has recorded a 69-49 (.585) career singles record and has been named on the All-C-USA Singles First Team for all four years and participated on the South African Davis Cup Team last fall.

 

 

In doubles, De Klerk and Espejo posted a 17-9 record this season, including a 15-8 record at the No. 2 position. The duo was named on the All-C-USA Doubles Second Team and posted a 5-0 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 6-1 record against regionally ranked opponents. De Klerk has posted a 66-34 (.660) career doubles record.
