TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa’s Spencer Papa defeated his second-round opponent Dane Webb, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, in the second round of the Tulsa Pro Classic, Thursday afternoon, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Webb, a senior from Oklahoma, bounced back after dropping the first set to Papa. Papa, one of the nation’s top incoming freshmen, was not fazed however, taking the decisive third set to book his place in the quarterfinal round of the Classic.

Papa will be matched up with Liam Broady, the tournament’s No. 1 seed Friday at 10:00 a.m. on court one. Broady was able to move on to the quarterfinal after taking care of Michael Riechmann, 6-1, 6-2.

Golden Hurricane Or Ram-Harel saw his tournament come to an end Thursday. Ram-Harel fell in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, against Oklahoma’s Andrew Harris, the fourth seed in the tournament. Harris is set to take on Vega Quinton in his quarterfinal match, upon the conclusion of the 10 a.m. clash between Mitchell Frank and third-seeded Luke Bambridge on court three.

In the other quarterfinal, Thai-Son Kwiatkowski will face second-seeded Sebastien Boltz, following Papa’s match on court one.

The doubles final is set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. on court one, as Broady and Bambridge, the duo from Great Britain, face the Mexican tandem of Daniel Garza and Raul-Isaias Rosas-Zarur.

Broady and Bambridge defeated Mitchell Frank and Kwiatkowski 6-1, 7-6(3), while Garza and Rosas-Zarur topped Jacob Herndon and Manfred Jeske, 6-3, 6-4, in their semifinal match.
