TU Tennis Teams Selected to Compete in Prestigious Tennis Championships

Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa�s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.

TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's and women's tennis teams have been selected to participate and second annual Wingspanbank.com/WTT National Collegiate Tennis Championships. This special event is scheduled to take place from October 6-8, 2000, in Palo Alto, Calif., on the campus of Stanford University. The three-day event will be administered by the ITA, and presented by Merrill Corporation.

The Wingspanbank.com/WTT National Collegiate Championships will be a 16-team tournament including Stanford, Florida, UCLA, Duke, Georgia, Tennessee, Pepperdine, Texas, Baylor, Southern California, Mississippi, LSU, Texas A&M, Tulsa, Harvard, Illinois.

The team competition will begin on Friday Oct. 6 and will finish on Sunday Oct. 8. The Championship Finals will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 8. Tennis great Billie Jean King is expected to be present during the event.
