Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's tennis team will kick off the 2006 fall season September 8-10, when it travels to, Houston, Texas to participate in the Courtyard by Marriott Rice Invitational at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium on the campus of Rice University.

The Rice Invitational will feature Tulsa, LSU, SMU, Texas Southern, Prairie View A&M and the host Rice.

The defending Conference USA champions will return nine-of-10 players from last season. The team, which finished as the 32nd-ranked team in the nation last spring, will be lead by junior Arnau Brugues from Barcelona, Spain, who finished last season with a 19-3 record and was ranked No. 10 in the country.

Tulsa will also return senior Frederico Soriano who finished the 2005-06 season as the No. 64 player with a record of 22-10.

TU will feature four seniors this season with Soriano joining Diego Camacho, Lucgues Maasdorp and Olof Sjolund in their final season.

The Golden Hurricane put together a combined singles record of 127-65 last season with five players posting more than 15 wins.
