Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's tennis team will host the Eighth Annual Hurricane Invitational at the Harwell Tennis Courts on the TU campus and the Cascia Hall High School Tennis Courts. The tournament begins on Friday, September 29, and runs through Sunday, October 1. The matches are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. Tulsa's individual players will open the tournament against Texas Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Harwell Tennis Courts.

The eight-team field consists of Arkansas, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Southwest Missouri State, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa and Tyler Junior College.

Thirteen of the nation's top singles and doubles players will compete in the three-day tournament. Highlighting the ranked individuals is TCU's Esteban Carril who enters the Invitational as the sixth-ranked singles player in the nation. Other ranked individuals include Arkansas' Oskar Johansson (#9) and Henrik Tofft (#35), TCU's Daniel Wajnberg (#46), Scott Eddins (#47), Petr Koula (#53) and Antonio Gordon (#56) and Northwestern's Brad Erickson (#83).

Four top-50 doubles teams will also participate including TCU's Eddins and Jimmy Haney, Northwestern's Erickson and Joost Hol, OSU's Matt Prentice and Eru Lyndon and Arkansas' Johansson and Oggie Kolev.

Leading the Hurricane will be junior Dane McGregor and senior Micah Zomer. McGregor led the TU singles attack a year ago with 19 wins, while Zomer was second with 16 victories. Tulsa returns seven letterwinners from last season's 12-12 squad.
