TULSA, Okla. - Junior Japie De Klerk defeated No. 17 ranked Bob vanOverbeek in the first round of the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Thursday, October 4.

De Klerk won his match 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the round of 32 in the main draw. He will face Gonzales Austin of Vanderbilt in a 2:30 p.m. tilt at the Michael D. Tennis Center. The winner of the match will advance to the round of 16, which will take place tomorrow.

Additionally, Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson will compete against Peter Kobelt and Connor Smith of Ohio State in the first round of the doubles main draw in a match that will not start before 7 p.m.
