Men's Tennis Completes First Day Of USTA Clay Court Invite

ORLANDO - The Tulsa men's tennis team completed its first day of action at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney on Friday, November 2. In doubles play, sophomore Alejandro Espejo and freshman Matthew Kirby defeated Penn State's Bryan Welnetz and Tomas Hanzlik, 8-5. The Tulsa tandem will face Sean Bacha and Richard Meade tomorrow at 7 a.m. In a close match, the senior duo of Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson fell to Florida's Billy Federhofer and Gordon Watson 9-7. In singles play, Espejo, Ive and Kirby all fell in the first round of their respected draws.
