Espejo and Kirby Win Doubles Title at USTA Clay Court Invite

ORLANDO - Sophomore Alejandro Espejo and freshman Matt Kirby won the Garnet Draw doubles title at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Espejo and Kirby defeated Florida State's Jao Gauer and Cristian Gonzalez Mendez 8-2 in the semifinals before defeating Florida State's Andres Bucaro and Michael Rinaldi, 8-1 in the finals. "I am very proud of the two youngsters," commented Head Coach Vince Westbrook. "They have put in the time and have made some of the necessary changes in their game. At this point, we feel like our team is ready for the spring." Espejo also won his match in consolation play defeating Jorge Blasco of UCF 6-2, 6-2.
