FLUSHING, N.Y. -

Junior Japie De Klerk fell in the first round of the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship on November 8, 2012, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

De Klerk, who earned his spot by becoming a quarterfinalist at the ITA All-American Championships, fell to No. 15 ranked Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee, 6-1, 6-2. De Klerk was ranked No. 73 in the preseason ITA rankings.

The loss marks the conclusion of the fall campaign for the Golden Hurricane.
