Santos has appeared in two Grand Slam events during his young career in the 2012 French Open and Wimbledon, and was the runner-up at the Individual South American Tournament. Currently, he is ranked 1,829 in the Association of Tennis Professional world rankings and has a career best ranking of 1,611.
"Danny has been one of the best players in South America since he was 12, and is the best player in Peru," commented Head Coach Vince Westbrook. "Adding a player of his caliber solidifies our program for years to come. He was attracted to Tulsa not only because of our tennis program, but because of our reputation as a great academic school. He is considered one of the best recruits entering the collegiate ranks next fall, and adding him to our team will allow us to maintain the high level of tennis that we play here at The University of Tulsa."
