Houston, Texas -

Larrissa Williams and Chanel Johnson tallied double-digits for Tulsa on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as TU fell 63-49 to Houston at Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston, Texas. The Golden Hurricane fell to 9-13 on the season and 5-4 in Conference USA, while the Cougars moved to 14-9 overall and 8-1 in the league.

TU and UH battled back-and-forth in the first half, with four ties and five lead changes. Neither team owned more than a six-point advantage in the first 20 minutes, as Tulsa led by five at the 18:45 mark and Houston had a six-point advantage with 8:01 remaining in the half. The Cougars took a 28-25 lead into the break.

In the second half, Twiggy McIntyre got the ball rolling for UH, scoring 17 points, while six other players combined for 18 second-half points as they maintained the lead for the entire half.

Williams had a team-best 13 points and Johnson added 11 to combine for nearly half of Tulsa's points in the contest. Williams also owned a team-leading 11 rebounds and three blocks, and along with ReShawndra Jackson and Teka Brooks tallied three steals apiece.

McIntyre finished with a game-best 20 points for Houston, and Courtney Taylor and Cobilyn Hill finished with nine points each. Taylor also had a team-leading nine rebounds.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, February 9th against Rice. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. at Hofheinz Pavilion due to the reconstruction of the Owls' Autry Court.
