Tulsa Women's Hoops Fall, 65-60, to Memphis

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team dropped a 65-60 decision to Memphis on Sunday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU fell to 6-18 on the season and 2-10 in Conference USA, while the Tigers moved to 10-15 overall and 3-9 in the league.
Larrissa Williams led TU with 24 points and 10 rebounds, posting her 11th double-double of the season and 27th of her career. Tatum Beer, Meoshi Bradley, Chanel Johnson and Kara Vaughan each scored six points, and Teka Brooks, ReShawndra Jackson and Chanice Scott each added four points. Johnson and Williams each recorded three blocks, while Vaughan and Jackson had three steals apiece.
The Golden Hurricane jumped out to a game-high 11-point lead with 14:23 on the clock, but Memphis battled back and pulled to within one point, 17-16, with just under six minutes to play. TU then went on an 11-5 run to take a 28-21 advantage into the break.
In the second half, the Tigers again pulled to within one, but TU inched ahead to an eight-point lead. Memphis went on to tie the game, 35-all with 14:18 on the clock. Both teams traded baskets and then the Tigers took the lead for good with just over 10 minutes to play and had a six-point game-high lead three times in the remainder of the contest.
Memphis was led by Paris Leonard and Alex Winchell who scored 14 points each, while Shekeira Copeland also scored in double figures with 10 points. Ramses Lonlack had a team-best 10 rebounds.
Tulsa will return to action on Friday, February 20th against Rice. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Autry Court in Houston, Texas.
