Women's Hoops Falls to Lady Techsters, 85-66
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Cheryl Ford had 26 points and 18 rebounds as seventh-ranked Louisiana Tech beat Tulsa 85-66 Saturday for its 21st consecutive victory. Trina Frierson added 19 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Techsters (23-2, 15-0 Western Athletic). Ford had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the first half to help Tech build a 47-31 lead at the break. Nine of her points came during a decisive 20-1 run to a 32-12 advantage, and the lead never fell below 12 thereafter. Tulsa (13-12, 8-6) got 20 points from leading scorer Allison Curtin, although she was just 5-of-16 from the floor. Alison Carney added 15 points for Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane shot just 35.8 percent (19-of-53) and committed 22 turnovers. Curtin, who had 26 points in a 75-62 loss at Louisiana Tech on Jan. 23,
scored just eight in the first half this time on 2-of-10 shooting.
