Tulsa, Oklahoma - Denise Lewis posted her first career double-double with 17 points and 20 rebounds, leading Tulsa to an 83-50 win over Texas A&M International on Saturday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU moved to 3-4 on the season, while TAMIU fell to 2-8 overall.

Taleya Mayberry registered a team-best 28 points and five assists, while Kara Vaughan also scored in double figures with 12 points and Tatum Beer had five steals. The Golden Hurricane out-rebounded the Dustdevils, 55-49, and had a 17-4 lead in steals. TU shot 39-percent from the field, 26-percent from behind the arc and 46-percent from the free throw line.

The Golden Hurricane jumped out to an 8-2 lead with 16:50 on the clock, but the Dustdevils went on a 15-5 run that spanned 5:37 off the clock to take a 17-13 lead. TU tied the contest at the 10-minute mark with a basket by Vaughan and two free throws by Tiayra Green. Both teams traded baskets and Tulsa took the lead for the remainder of the half with just over seven minutes to play. The Golden Hurricane had a 35-27 advantage at the break.

In the second half, Tulsa continued to inch ahead, posting a game-high 33-point lead for the final score.

Texas A&M International was led by Johnna Williams with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Nikkiti Scott added 10 points.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 2nd against Stephen F. Austin. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, Texas.
