Tulsa Returns Home to Host Langston on Thursday; Admission is Free

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's basketball team returns home to host Langston on Thursday, January 3rd beginning at 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. There is no charge for admission. This is the first women's hoops contest in the friendly confines of the Reynolds Center since the Golden Hurricane took on Colorado State on Dec. 8th.
Tulsa, which has a 4-8 overall record, looks to close out the non-conference slate and even up the series against Langston. Taleya Mayberry is posting a team-leading 19.6 points per game and has 45 assists, while Tiffani Couisnard averages just under a double-double with 9.6 ppg and 8.8 rebounds, and has a team-best of 10 blocks. Mayberry has 28 steals, while Couisnard has 23, Kelsee Grovey adds 8.8 ppg and Loren McDaniel posts 7.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg.
Langston has a 2-8 overall record, including a loss to Jarvis Christian, 67-56, in their last contest on Dec. 13th. The Lions are led by Amber Coleman with 15.8 ppg, while Victoria Felix also nets double-digit points with 12.1 ppg and has a team-best 7.0 rpg. Tayla Vaughn has 17 blocks and 25 steals, while Felix has 34 assists.
This will be the 16th meeting between the two teams, as the Lions have an 8-7 advantage in the all-time series. Langston won the last meeting, a 63-55 decision during the 1986-87 season.
