Tulsa to Host Stephen F. Austin in Final Non-Conference Contest Tonight

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team returns home to host Stephen F. Austin tonight in the final regular-season non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU enters the contest with a 5-5 mark, and with a victory today would enter league play with a winning record for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
The Golden Hurricane is coming off an 86-45 win over McNeese State just two days ago and is amidst a four-game, four-state, eight-day swing. Tulsa has a 3-1 mark at the Reynolds Center this season, and ranks as the top team in Conference USA for field goal percentage defense (.339), rebounding offense (47.8), rebounding margin (+7.7), blocked shots (5.2), offensive rebounds (19.3) and defensive rebounds (28.5).
TU is led by senior Larrissa Williams who has a team-best 15.2 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game, as well as 25 blocks. Lone freshman Taleya Mayberry is second in scoring with 11.8 ppg, while totaling a team-leading 33 assists and 27 steals.
Stephen F. Austin enters the contest with a 5-5 overall record, and will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Ladyjacks are led by Whitney Cormier and Jordan Ford with 14.1 ppg and 10.1 ppg, respectively. Ford posts a team-leading 6.6 rebounds per game, while Cormier has 22 steals and Schera Sampson has 11 blocks.
This will be the eighth meeting with the Ladyjacks, as Stephen F. Austin has a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series. Neither team has lost on their home court.
