Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will host the San Jose State Spartans in the Western Athletic Conference home opener for the Hurricane at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The game will be broadcast live on Cox Cable Channel 9. Don King will describe the play-by-play, while former Hurricane standout Brian Rahilly provides color analysis.

Tulsa (3-8, 0-1 WAC) will look to snap a four-game skid against the Spartans. Since joining the WAC four seasons ago, TU is 3-1 in league home openers. Last season, the Golden Hurricane recorded a 6-1 mark at home, the best conference record at home in school history. Tulsa, 1-3 at the Reynolds Center this season, is led by junior Leela Farr's 12.1 points and 6.4 rebounds.

San Jose State (8-7, 0-4 WAC) comes into its matchup with Tulsa also on a four-game losing streak. The Spartans have dropped their first four WAC games and a total of five out of its last six outings. SJSU, 1-2 on the road this season, is led by junior Atari Parker's 17.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Sunday's contest marks the seventh meeting between the Hurricane and Spartans. Tulsa leads the overall series, 4-2, after capturing both outings last season. Tulsa won 71-55 in San Jose and posted a 66-37 victory in Tulsa in the last meeting between the two schools. Since the first meeting between Tulsa and San Jose State took place during the 1996-97 campaign, Tulsa is 3-0 at home against the Spartans.
