Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's basketball team will close out a three-game homestand this Sunday at 2:05 p.m. against the UTEP Miners in Western Athletic Conference action at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The contest will be broadcast live on Cox Cable of Tulsa Channel 9. Chris Plank will provide the play-by-play, while Brian Rahilly serves as the color analyst. The contest can also be heard live on KRSC 91.3 FM.

Tulsa (3-11, 0-3 WAC) enters Sunday's game on a six-game skid and has dropped its first three conference games of the season. TU is off to its worst start in league play since the 1996-97 campaign, Tulsa's first season as a WAC member. TU is 10-6 (.630) in WAC games at the Reynolds Center and is 1-5 overall at home this season. The Hurricane is averaging 53.8 points and 34.1 rebounds per game. Junior Leela Farr leads Tulsa with 11.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Senior Athena Pirpich leads the team in three-point field goals (34), assists (48) and steals (27).

UTEP comes into the Tulsa contest on a two-game skid and with a 72-53 loss to SMU this past Friday, the Miners have dropped four out of their last five contests. UTEP is 2-6 overall on the road this season and 1-3 in conference road games. The Miners are led by sophomore forward Amy Pack's 20.2 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Head Coach Sandra Rushing is in her 11th season at UTEP.

Sunday's game marks the fifth meeting between Tulsa and UTEP. The all-time series is tied at 2-2. The Miners won both meetings against the Hurricane during the 1996-97 campaign. Last season, Tulsa returned the favor by capturing both conference games for the season sweep. TU topped the Miners 64-28 in Tulsa and recorded a 76-61 decision in El Paso in 1999-2000.
