Irving, Texas - Tulsa guard Kelsee Grovey was named as the Conference USA Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, as announced today by the league office. This was Grovey's first weekly award, and the third C-USA Freshman of the Week honor for TU women's hoops since the 2009-10 season.

Grovey averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game against Marshall and East Carolina on the week. She scored a career-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, to pace the Hurricane in a win against the Thundering Herd on Thursday. At East Carolina, Grovey accounted for 10 points and had two assists in a close road loss on Sunday.

Grovey is second on the team in scoring with 9.8 ppg and assists with 30, and is third in steals with 24.
