Tulsa Women's Basketball Team Hosts UCF on Thursday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's basketball team returns home to host UCF on Thursday, January 24th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. During the game a $100 Visa gift card will be awarded to the rowdiest TU student in attendance. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Reynolds Center ticket office.
The Hurricane, which has a 6-11 overall record and a 1-3 mark in C-USA, is led by Taleya Mayberry with 19.1 points per game and a team-high 74 assists and 45 steals. Kelsee Grovey nets 9.8 ppg, Tiffani Couisnard averages 9.2 ppg, a team-best 8.9 rebounds per game and has a team-leading 16 blocks, and Loren McDaniel adds 6.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.
UCF has a 6-11 overall record and a 0-3 mark in C-USA. The Knights are led by Briahanna Jackson and Gevenia Carter with 14.8 and 13.1 ppg, respectively. Jackson adds a team-best 59 steals, Carter has tallied 51 assists, Erika Jones has pulled down a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per game and Stephanie Taylor has registered 28 blocks.
Tulsa is currently outscoring UCF by an average of 7.1 points per game and pulling down 3.0 more rebounds per game, and has a .379 shooting percentage compared to a .340 shooting percentage by the Knights.
This will be the eighth meeting between the two teams, as the Knights have a 5-2 lead in the all-time series, including wins in the last four contests.
Tulsa will host the 2013 Conference USA Championship, March 13-16, at the Tulsa Convention Center and BOK Center. The first two rounds will be played at the Tulsa Convention Center, while the semifinals and championship game will be played at the BOK Center.
