Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's basketball team will host SMU on Sunday, January 27th beginning at 2:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets for the game are $5 and can be purchased at the Reynolds Center ticket office.

Before the TU-SMU contest, the Golden Hurricane Club will host the annual Hoops `N Chili lunch and pep rally beginning at 12:30 pm in the Reynolds Center Practice Gym. Tickets are $12 (meal only) and $15 (chili meal and game ticket), and must be purchased by noon on Friday, January 25th by calling 918.631.2555.

The Golden Hurricane, which has a 7-11 overall record and a 2-3 mark in C-USA, is led by Taleya Mayberry with 19.3 points per game and a team-high 77 assists and 48 steals. Kelsee Grovey nets 9.5 ppg, Tiffani Couisnard averages 9.1 ppg, a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game and has a team-leading 19 blocks, and Loren McDaniel adds 6.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest.

SMU has a 13-4 overall record and a 4-0 mark in C-USA. The Mustangs are led by Keena Mays with 21.2 points per game, while Alisha Filmore adds 12.3 points per game. Korina Baker has tallied a team-best 64 assists and 36 steals, Akil Simpson pulls down 7.5 rebounds per game and Destynee Hives-McCray has 13 blocks.

This will be the 37th meeting between Tulsa and SMU, as the Mustangs have a 23-13 lead in the all-time series. The Hurricane, however, captured wins in both contests a year ago.

Tulsa will host the 2013 Conference USA Championship, March 13-16, at the Tulsa Convention Center and BOK Center. The first two rounds will be played at the Tulsa Convention Center, while the semifinals and championship game will be played at the BOK Center.
