Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's Leela Farr has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-Feb. 10.

The senior forward from Joplin, Mo., (Joplin HS) became the third Hurricane to earn the honor after center Alyssa Shriver and center Becky Heidotten earned Player of the Week earlier this season. This is Farr's first Player of the Week honor. The Hurricane is the first team this season to earn the honor three times.

Farr averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, as Tulsa defeated Boise State and UTEP to move to 10-3 in the WAC this season. The senior shot 54.1 percent (13-24) from the field and 93.0 percent (13-14) from the free throw line.

She scored a career-high 29 points, including 21 in the first half, to fuel the Golden Hurricane to an 84-71 victory over UTEP at home. Farr's 29 points were the fourth-best single game effort in school history

With the 10 WAC wins, the Hurricane set the Tulsa record for league wins in a season. Tulsa is also one win shy of the Hurricane single-season record for wins (16).
