Tulsa Women's Hoops Sign Two to National Letters-of-Intent
May 5, 2011
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa signed Andrea Coggin and Amber Fleet to national letters-of-intent, as announced today by Head Women's Basketball Coach Matilda Mossman.
Coggin, a 6'4" forward, comes to Tulsa as a junior after transferring from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. She helped her team finish as the National Junior College Athletic Association Runner-Up as a freshman and finished fourth as a sophomore. During her sophomore season, she averaged 11 points and nine rebounds per game. Coggin played her prep career at Oilton High School where she was a three-year letterwinner.
"Shane [Coffey] and I were following Andrea online in the NJCAA Tournament even before I got the job," Mossman said. "She is an individual that will just continue to improve and with her size, she will help us a lot in conference play."
A 5'7" guard from Frisco, Texas, Fleet was a letterwinner at Bishop Lynch High School as a senior, and earned three letters as a member of the Liberty High School girls team. As a senior, Fleet averaged 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists, and picked up all-district and all-state honors. She was also a three-time all-district honoree as a member of the LHS team.
"We are fortunate that Amber was still available this late in the signing period," Mossman said. "She flew under the radar, but we got a steal with this one because she is deceptive defensively, she is quick, she anticipates and she is a great competitor."
