A Day in the life of Jessica McQuin.
Today was a great day, not only because it's my favorite day of the week, but it was overall a GREAT day. I have this habit of listening to an artist by the name of "The Weeknd" on Thursdays, he also has this mixtape called Thursday, so it's pretty fitting. I didn't have class today, so I woke up rather late, ate a bowl of cereal and watched "The Parkers". My life is pretty exciting.
Taleya and I have been working out with her older cousin and his little brother everyday. I always look forward to these sessions. After doing our individual shooting and ball handling drills, her cousin wanted us to play a shooting game. It was him and his brother against Taleya and I. Now I won't lie to you and say that I thought we were going to win, because quite frankly, I thought they were. Her cousin is a pure shooter. The loser had to run after every spot. Needless to say, they ran for the most part. Taleya and I beat them in 4 out of 5 spots. We probably didn't miss more than 10 shots in 5 spots. After they ran we played full court two-on-two, best 2 out of 3. Well you can guess who won that as well... yup that's right, Taleya and I. I'm proud of our competitiveness, and the fact that we won! I really enjoy working out with her; she pushes me and makes me better. I hope I do the same for her. After we left there, we had a really good pickup session. Collectively, I can see the team getting better. It's pretty exciting to see our progression.
After pickup, I went over to my other teammate, Kadan's apartment to do a little ab session. We did 15 minutes of p90X, which was harder than I thought. Actually it was really hard. Mariah, Kadan and I were having a hard time with it, but as I was doing the exercises, I felt my muscles getting stronger by the second, or at least that's what it felt like. I always enjoy this time that I have with my teammates to get better. It was a pretty awesome day.
