"I feel fortunate that Ashley wants to compete at the highest level both academically and athletically, and I am ecstatic that she chose The University of Tulsa," Mossman said. "Ashley has a pedigree of excellence in everything she does and we are looking forward to those traits carrying over to our basketball program."

Hughes is a 5'7" point guard from Sulphur [Okla.] High School and helped her SHS team post a 94-14 overall record. "I am really excited to be coming to The University of Tulsa," Hughes said. "They have a great coaching staff and great players, and they are moving in the right direction. I am honored to be a part of it and I am excited see what we can do this coming season."

Hughes also earned four letters in golf, three in softball and two in track and field.
