The Tulsa women's basketball team will be writing a weekly blog. Each week a different player will give the TU fans insight into one day in their life. Check the blog each week to stay up-to-date with the Hurricane women's basketball team.

A Day in the Life of Liesl Spoerl

Alarm sounds at 5:30 a.m.
• Get up and get ready for weights at 6
• Make sure to grab all my needed supplies for the day: water bottle, backpack with basketball gear, backpack with class gear and a rain jacket just in case!

Begin the rigorous workout at 6 a.m.
• For a solid hour we go through a well-planned lift that pushes us to get better
• After lifting we make our way to the gym where we go through several speed and agility drills

Weights end at 7, and breakfast begins
• Now that breakfast is mandatory this summer, I quickly drive from weights to the Caf where I fix myself a good breakfast of eggs, oatmeal, a mixed variety of berries and yogurt with granola.
• After finishing this nutrition-filled breakfast I make my way back to the gym with a couple of my teammates

At 7:45 the second workout for the day begins
• We now begin a 30 min workout with our position coaches
• Coach Robbins puts myself and Rickae through several post drills

Off to class!
• Immediately following the end of individual workouts at 8:15, I hustle to Helmrich Hall where I attend my accounting class from 8:30-10:10

Study Hall
• Since we are required to obtain a certain number of study hall hours a week, I make my way to the case building following the end of class.
• I typically sit in case for an hour or two depending on my schedule for the day.

To work!
• After I finish study hall I finally take a shower and grab a quick bite to eat!
• I hop into my car and take off to the destination of the day. Since I have been interning with Kara Paslay Design this summer, I am sent all over to help her with projects and to learn the tricks of the trade. I have been to homes in Broken Arrow, Tulsa and Owasso. Each day is different, but typically I am learning just how much more goes into interior design rather than just decorating a room. I return items, purchase items and decorate rooms. It is common for her to have me hand craft decorations and write blogs for her website. After only being with her for about three weeks, I believe that this is something I really want to spend the rest of my life doing!

Back to reality
• After coming down from the amazing high that interior design has given me for the day, I return to campus around 4 pm for pickup or a team meeting.
• After pickup or the meeting, if time permits, I shoot with my roommate Jasmine.

The end
• I finally return to my apartment around 6/7
• I fix dinner for my roommate and myself and we take time to catch our breath and talk about our days. After a good meal, a shower, and the final touches on homework or cleaning the apartment, we finally make it to bed around 10:30 on a good night. (Unfortunately, bed time typically isn't until 11:30, but we shoot for 10:30!)
• After completing this day, we look forward to doing it all over again the next day!
