Tulsa, Oklahoma -

The University of Tulsa women's basketball team announced its 11-game non-conference slate, which features six home contests, three games against 2014 postseason teams and a trip to Miami for the Thanksgiving Tournament.

Nine of the 12 teams that TU could face during the first half of the season finished last year with double-digit wins, while seven had winning records, and Lamar, Miami and Texas Southern all competed in the WNIT.

The 2014-15 campaign will tip-off at home against Northern Iowa of the Missouri Valley Conference on Nov. 14th, while Lamar comes to town on Nov. 17th. The Panthers captured 17 wins, while the Cardinals picked up 18 victories and played in the WNIT First Round last season. UNI has come away with both victories in the series against Tulsa, including a 60-54 win in 1999, while TU evened the series (1-1) with Lamar with a 68-67 victory a year ago.

The first road test will be a short trip across town as the Golden Hurricane will take on Oral Roberts on Nov. 21st. The Golden Eagles earned nine wins last season, but fell to TU, 72-58. This will be the 38th meeting between the cross-town rivals with Tulsa picking up three of the last four wins.

The Hurricane continues the four-game road stretch at Texas Southern on Nov. 25th before making the trip to Miami for the Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 28th and 29th. In the tournament, TU will face off against Illinois State in the first game, and will take on either Miami or Buffalo in the second contest. TSU registered 20 victories, including an 88-80 win over TU to tie the series, 1-1, and played in the WNIT First Round last year. The Illinois State Redbirds had just 10 wins, while the Hurricanes tallied 16 victories and played in the WNIT First Round, and Buffalo recorded 17 wins a year ago. This will be the first meeting for Tulsa with both Illinois State and Miami, while the Hurricane earned a 64-39 win over Buffalo in 2005.

Tulsa returns home to host Saint Louis on December 3rd before traveling to Valparaiso on the 6th. The Billikens posted 12 victories, including a 65-54 win over TU, last season, while Valpo dropped an 84-70 decision to the Hurricane a year ago.

TU will close out the non-conference schedule with three-straight home contests including Arkansas on December 14th, New Orleans on the 18th and UALR on the 21st. The Razorbacks tallied 19 wins, including a win over Tulsa, while the Privateers struggled and went 0-29 on the year, and the Trojans picked up 18 victories.

"We are excited to open the season with two quality home opponents before traveling across town to take on Oral Roberts," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said. "The highlight of this schedule will be traveling to Miami over Thanksgiving to have fun in the sun and experience quality competition on the court. The Miami trip affords us the opportunity to bond as a team, be part of a different culture, and do it all while we have a break from classes."

"We still have a lot of youth on our team and this schedule offers us the opportunity to bring them along before taking on a very competitive American Athletic Conference schedule."

The American Athletic Conference schedule will be released at a later date.
