Tulsa Women's Basketball Takes On Grambling State in Doubleheader on Saturday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will take on Grambling State in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 17th. Game time is set for 8:30 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center and will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the men's basketball game against UT-Arlington. Tickets can be purchased at the Reynolds Center and are $5.
The Golden Hurricane enters the contest with a 2-5 mark on the season, but is 2-1 in the friendly confines of the Reynolds Center. Taleya Mayberry and Taylor Hooker are leading the TU attack as both average double-digit points with 16.4 and 11.7 points per game, respectively. Tiffani Couisnard has a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game and seven blocks, while Mayberry has 17 assists and Hooker has 18 steals.
Tulsa ranks fourth in rebounding defense (36.3) and offensive rebounds (16.9), and is sixth in scoring offense (63.4), three-point field goal percentage (.292), free throw percentage (.638) and rebounding margin (+4.0) among Conference USA's best.
The Lady Tigers have a 4-3 overall record and are coming off an 89-80 overtime victory over Oral Roberts on Thursday. GSU is led by Markisha Patterson with 13.4 ppg, followed by Tonieshwa Mack with 10.9 ppg and Wymeka Randle with 10.0 ppg. Randle also has a team-best 12.0 rebounds per game, while Savannah Carter has 18 assists and Mack has 17 steals.
This will be the first meeting between the Golden Hurricane and the Lady Tigers.
