Tulsa Women's Hoops to Host Stephen F. Austin Tomorrow

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 29th against Stephen F. Austin. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. This will be the first game for TU in 10 days and the first home game in three weeks. Tulsa owns a 3-9 mark this season, and is coming off a 67-56 loss to Oregon in the Caribbean Classic on Dec. 19th. Sophomore Larrissa Williams posts 11.6 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game to lead the Golden Hurricane in both categories. Freshman Tatum Beer averages just below double-digit points with 9.8 ppg, and owns a team-best 35 assists and 21 steals, while Chanel Johnson has registered a team-leading 38 blocks. The Ladyjacks have tallied a 3-7 mark on the season and are coming off a 66-63 loss to Prairie View A&M on Dec. 20th. Two of SFA's losses have been to Conference USA schools - Tulane (56-45) and SMU (66-60). The Ladyjacks have been led this season by Nikki Carr who owns a team-best 14.7 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game, as well as 42 assists and 36 steals. She is also one of four players on the team to have two blocks on the year. Whitney Cormier also posts double-digit points for SFA with 10.6 ppg. The Golden Hurricane and Ladyjacks will face off for the sixth time on Saturday, as SFA leads the series 3-2, including a 66-56 win last season in Nacogdoches, Texas.
