Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will start the 2012 calendar year against Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Jan. 1st beginning at 2:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Reynolds Center ticket office.

The Golden Hurricane has a 4-6 mark on the season, including a 4-1 mark in the friendly confines of the Reynolds Center. Taleya Mayberry has a team-best 16.2 points per game, while Taylor Hooker averages 10.7 ppg. The TU tandem also rank first and second in assists with 25 and 20 on the season, respectively. Tiffani Couisnard has a team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game, followed by Hooker with 6.4, while Hooker has 24 steals and Couisnard has eight blocks.

The Ladyjacks have a 10-2 overall record, including wins over Conference USA opponents Rice and SMU in their last two contests. SFA is led by Tammara Marion with 15.2 ppg, while Annette Davis is the second-leading scorer with 7.3 ppg. Porsha Roberts has a team-best 5.9 rebounds per game and 18 blocks, while Courtney Conwright has 45 assists and Davis has 19 steals.

This will be the 10th meeting between the Hurricane and the Ladyjacks, as TU has a 5-4 advantage in the all-time series. Tulsa won the last contest, an 89-87 overtime decision last year in Nacogdoches, Texas.
