Tulsa Women's Golf in Sixth Place at UNLV Spring Invitational

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The 44th-ranked Tulsa women's golf team is sixth after two rounds at the UNLV Spring Invitational at the par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder Creek, Nevada. The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the third and final round. Twenty-fifth ranked Pepperdine leads the team race with a 13-under par 563, while BYU sits two strokes back in second place. Oklahoma, the nation's 24th-ranked team, has a two-under par 574, while 42nd-ranked UNLV is fourth with a 594 total and North Texas is one stroke back in fifth place. Kristina Merkle turned in a team-best two-under par 70 in today's second round after carding a team-high 77 yesterday for a 147 total and a 17th-place performance. Marita Engzelius is two strokes back in 25th place, while Kamryn Ruffin has a 150 total for 30th place. Charlotte Brooks and Sarah Elliot have 152 and 154 totals for 36th and 44th place, respectively. BYU's Kelsey Vines has a four-stroke lead of 136 over a trio of players, including Pepperdine's Kaitlin Drolson and Danielle Kang, and Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro.
