Mesa, Arizona - The Tulsa women's golf team is in eighth place after two rounds at the 2013 Clover Cup, while Hurricane senior Kristina Merkle is in 10th place individually after carding identical rounds of 72 on Saturday at the par-72 Longbow Golf Club.

First round action on Friday was postponed due to rain, forcing two rounds on Saturday with a shotgun start.

The Hurricane carded rounds of 303-295 for a 598 total, just three strokes out of fifth place. Oklahoma leads the team race with a six-under par 570 score, as four of the Sooners' golfers sit among the top-seven individuals. SMU (583), Northwestern (588), Texas Tech (589) and Florida International (595) round out the top five teams.

Merkle had four birdies and four bogeys on her first 18 holes today, while in the second round she had four bogeys two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 18th hole, which was Merkle's ninth hole on the day after starting her round on the 10th hole.

Fellow senior Shu-Yin Liu is in 21st place after carding rounds of 77 and 72 for a 149 total, while freshman Antonia Von Wnuck is in 32nd place with a 36-hole total of 151 on rounds of 77 and 74. Karson Bizell has a 156 total for 59th place, while Heather Smith is in 79th place with a score of 161.

SMU's Jenny Haglund leads the individual race with a six-under par score of 138 after scoring rounds of 71 and 67.

Final round action will begin with a shotgun start on Sunday at 8:00 am (MT).
