Austin, Texas - Arizona State fired a 287 and is the only team under par after the opening round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas.

The Sun Devils had a one-shot lead over Arizona, which carded an even-par 288, while Vanderbilt and Purdue are tied for third place at 291 and New Mexico rounds out the top five teams with a 292.

Tulsa, with three freshmen, one sophomore and one senior, are in 14th place after the opening round with a score of 308. Freshman Marita Engzelius turned in TU's best individual round with a one-over par 73 for 15th place, followed by classmate Shu-Yin Liu in 32nd place with a 75. Senior Woori Shin shot a 79 for 64th place, while sophomore Kelly Fuchik carded an 81 and freshman Sarah Elliot carded an 83.

In the individual race, six players shot a two-under par 70 to tie for first place, including Arizona State's Jennifer Osborn, Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc and Maria Hernandez, Arkansas' Lucy Nunn, New Mexico's Jodi Ewart, and Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer.

The tournament will resume on Saturday, with the final round on Sunday.
