Tulsa's Marita Engzelius jumped into third place after a five-under par 67 on Saturday at the 54-hole BancorpSouth Rebel Intercollegiate, while the Golden Hurricane team remains in fourth place after two rounds with a score of 591 at the par-72 Ole Miss Golf Course.
Engzelius' five-under par round consisted of five birdies, as she knocked in her first birdie at the par-3 5th hole to finish the front nine at one-under par. She birdied four holes on the back nine including the 11th, 13th, 14th and 15th holes. Engzelius has a total score of 142 for her overall third-place performance for the first 36 holes.
Junior Kristina Merkle carded a round of 73 on Saturday and is in a 13th place tie with teammate Sarah Elliot with four-over par scores of 148. Elliot shot a score of even-par 72 today.
Freshman Anna Young is in 38th place with a score of 153, while junior Kayla Riede has a score of 157 to tie for 61st place.
Baylor continues to lead the team race with a score of 577, followed by host Mississippi at 581. Missouri is next in third place at 590, followed by Tulsa's 591 while Mississippi State's 595 rounds out the top-5 teams. Individually, Baylor's Jaclyn Jansen carded a score of 69 today for a five-under par 139 total.
Final round play gets underway on Sunday at 8 am.
