Tulsa Golfers In Lead at Conference USA Championships

El Paso, Texas - The Tulsa women's golf team is in first place at the Conference USA Championship after carding a 304 and 297 in the first two rounds at the par-72 Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.
The 30th-ranked Golden Hurricane had the best round of the day with a nine-over par 297 for a 601 total, seven strokes ahead of second-place and 36th-ranked East Carolina. Forty-second-ranked UCF (617), SMU (618) and UTEP (624) round out the top five teams.
Tulsa's 66th-ranked Woori Shin had the best round of the day for TU, moving up 13 spots to tie 82nd-ranked Abby Bools of East Carolina for the lead with a two-day 147 total. Leisl Hasbrouck fell to the No. 4 slot with a 149 total, while 46th-ranked Michaela Cavener carded an identical round of 77 for eighth place with a 152. Tara Goedeken is one stroke back in 12th place, and Kelly Fuchik is in 35th place with a 164.
"I feel really good about today's round," Head Coach Randy Keck said. "We had a poor round yesterday, but we battled back and played a great round in tough conditions. Tomorrow we will have to stay focused and be the toughest team."
The third and final round will be played on Wednesday.
