Fresno, Calif. - Long Beach State pulled out a one-stroke victory over the Tulsa women's golf team on Tuesday at the Fresno State Lexus Classic. Tulsa finished the 54-hole tournament in second place with a 54-hole total of 893.

Long Beach State carded a round 295 today to better the Hurricane by four strokes in final round play. Tulsa shot a final round 299 at the par-72 Copper River Country Club. San Jose State finished three strokes behind the Golden Hurricane in third place with an 896 score, while UC Irvine (903) and Idaho (907) rounded out the top-five teams.

Tulsa freshman Antonia Von Wnuck scored a round of 74 on Tuesday and finished the tournament in fifth place with a final score of 221, shooting one stroke better than teammate Kristina Merkle. The Tulsa senior shot a final round 78 and finished the two-day tournament with a 222 total for seventh place.

Senior Shu-Yin Liu had Tulsa's best round of the day with a score of one-over par 73 to finish in 12th place with an overall total of 225. Jessica Lydia turned in her best round of the tournament with a score of 74 for a three-round total of 228 to put her in 25th place overall. Heather Smith finished in 45th place after carding a score of 80 today for a 233 total.

Long Beach State's Simone Hoey captured individual medalist honors with a five-under par score of 211.

Tulsa will play next at the Conference USA Championship, April 22-24, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
