Gulf Shores, Alabama - The Tulsa women's golf team remains in fifth-place after second round action at the 2013 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship. The Hurricane carded a score of 310 for a 614 total, while freshman Antonia Von Wnuck moved eight spots into sixth place with an overall four-over par 148 score on the par-72 Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club Course.

Tulane continues to lead the field and increased its two-stroke lead over East Carolina after round one to 12 strokes on Tuesday with a round of 295 for a 586 total. The Pirates are in second place at 598 and is followed by UCF (602), SMU (607) and Tulsa (614) to round out the top-five teams.

Von Wnuck carded a one-over par 73 on Tuesday for her four-over pat 148 total to lead the Hurricane women. She birdied the par-4 first hole before suffering a bogey and double-bogey on back-to-back holes at the par-3 fourth and par-4 fifth hole. Von Wnuck rebounded with a birdie putt on the par-5 sixth hole and finished her first nine at one-over par. She bogeyed the 11th and birdied the 18th hole to finish the day at even par.

Tulsa senior Shu-Yin Liu moved into an 18th place tie after a score of 75 today and sits at eight-under par 152 after the first 36 holes.

The Hurricane had to count an 80 from freshman Jessica Lydia and an 82 from senior Kristina Merkle on Tuesday. Merkle is in 34th place with a 158 score, while Lydia has a score of 162 for 43rd place. Junior Karson Bizzell is in 44th place with a total score of 163 after today's round of 87.

 

 

East Carolina's Nico Engstroem Skaug and Tulane's Madison Opfer share the individual lead with one-over par scores of 145.

Final round action will start at 7:45 am on the first tee for the Tulsa women.
