Gulf Shores, Alabama - The Tulsa women's golf team finished in a fourth-place tie at the 2013 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday. The Hurricane carded its best round on the par-72 Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club Course with a final round of 300 to finish at 914 for the 54-hole event.

Tulsa and SMU tied for fourth place, while Tulane led from start to finish and carded a total score of 877. East Carolina finished in second place with a score of 904, while UCF was the third-place finisher with a 905 total.

Two Tulsa golfers finished among the top-10, including freshman Antonia Von Wnuck and senior Shu-Yin Liu. Wnuck carded a final round 75 and finished in an eighth-place tie at 224, while the senior Liu finished in 10th place with a final score of 225. Liu turned in the best individual round of the day for the Hurricane with a one-over par 73.

Liu was three-over par after her first five holes, but finished the front nine even on the final four holes. She turned in birdie putts on the par-4 12th hole and the par-3 17th hole to finish the day at one-over par.

Senior Kristina Merkle carded a score of 77 today and finished in 33rd place with a three-round total of 235. Freshman Jessica Lydia was one stroke behind Merkle with a 236 total for 35th place after turning in a score of 74 today.

Tulsa junior Karson Bizzell finished in 45th place with a 247 score after turning in a round of 247 today.

Nico Engstroem Skaug of East Carolina won a three-golfer playoff against Gemma Dryburgh of Tulane and Felicia Espericueta of SMU to claim individual medalist honors. The three golfers forced the playoff by shooting four-over par for the 54 holes.
