Erie, Colorado - The Tulsa women golfers placed 13th in the 24-team NCAA West Regional on Saturday afternoon and failed to qualify for the NCAA Championship Finals. The Hurricane carded a final round 299 and finished the 54-hole event with an overall score of 899 at the par-72 Colorado National Golf Club.

The top eight teams and two individuals advanced to the championship finals to be played May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee.

The nation's number one-ranked UCLA Bruins tied for the team title with 7th-ranked LSU with totals of nine-over par 873. The next six teams qualifying for the NCAA Championship Finals include Pepperdine (875), Colorado (877), Baylor (879), Stanford (879), North Carolina (880) and Oklahoma (890).

Tulsa's Kristina Merkle and Marita Engzelius finished the tournament tied for 26th place with scores of five-over par 221. The duo each scored rounds of one-over par 73 on the final 18 holes today as both golfers carded two birdies and three bogeys on the day.

Freshman Anna Young finished in 61st place with a score of 228 after turning in a score of 78 today. Junior Kayla Riede placed 71st overall with a score of 229 after turning in her low round of the tournament today with a three-over par 75.

Senior Kamryn Ruffin finished in 104th place with a total score of 236 after carding a score of 78 today.

North Carolina's Catherine O'Donnell won medalist honors with a seven-under par score of 209.
