Tulsa Women 17th at Golfweek Conference Challenge

WOLCOTT, Colo. - Shu-Yin Liu shot a 74 and the Tulsa women golfers are in 17th place after one round at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club. The senior Liu was two shots over par and tied for 23rd to lead the Golden Hurricane, which totaled 311 on the first day of the three-day tournament. Liu is six strokes off the individual lead, held by Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil, who shot a four-under par 68 in the opening round. Oklahoma and Pepperdine are tied for the team lead after each carding 286 Monday. Senior Kristina Merkle and freshman Antonia Von Wnuck each carded a 78 and sit tied for 52nd place, while junior Karson Bizzell shot an 81 in the first round and sits tied for 74th. Freshman Jessica Lydia shot an 83 in Round One on Monday.
