Shu-Yin Liu is in a fourth-place tie at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, while the Tulsa team sits in 16th place following two rounds at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club. The Hurricane turned in a score of 311 today for a two-round total of 618.
The senior Liu carded a three-under par 69 in second round action on Tuesday. Opening the day on Hole #10, Liu turned in birdie putts on the par-4 11th and 12th holes to go to two-under par, but double-bogeyed the par-3 17th hole and made the turn at even-par. On her final nine holes, Liu birdied holes 1, 2, 5 and 6 before a bogey on the par-4 8th hole for her three-under par round and 36-hole total of one-under par 143.
Liu is five strokes behind UC Davis' Demi Runas' tournament-leading six-under par 138 total.
Pepperdine holds the team-lead with a one-under par 575 score, followed by UC Davis (577), Oklahoma (586), Ole Miss (596) and Campbell University (601) rounding out the top-5 teams.
Tulsa freshman Antonia Von Wnuck and senior Kristina Merkle sit in a tie for 52nd place after each golfer turned in their second day of six-over par 78s for a 156 total. Freshman Jessica Lydia is in 82nd place with a score of 165, followed by junior Karson Bizzell with a 36-hole total of 170.
Final round action is scheduled to tee-off on Wednesday morning.
