Tulsa Women Golfers Finish Round One at Susie Maxwell Berning Classic

Norman, Okla. - The Tulsa women's golf team is in 17th place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic. The Hurricane carded a round of 310 at the par-72 Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course. The host Oklahoma Sooners lead the 18-team field with a four-under par 284 score and is followed by Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Texas State tied for second place with scores of 289. Denver rounds out the top-5 teams with a 290 total. Tulsa freshman Antonia Von Wnuck carded a first round score of two-over par 74 and is in 27th place overall. Senior Kristina Merkle is in 39th place after scoring a round of 75 on Monday, while fellow senior Shu-Yin Liu had a score of 79 for 70th place. Newcomers Karson Bizzell and Jessica Lydia are tied for 86th place with identical scores of 82. There's a three-way tie for first place between Texas Tech's Kimberly Kaufman, Denver's Tonje Daffinrud and Notre Dame's Lindsey Weaver with scores of four-under par 68.
