Tulsa Women Golfers in Second Place at UAB Fall Beach Bash

Mobile, Ala. - The Tulsa women's golf team sits in second place after opening round action at the UAB Fall Beach Blast on Monday. The Hurricane carded a score of 297 and is two shots behind tournament leader Austin Peay.
Tulsa's Franziska Voellinger, Antonia Von Wnuck and Alex Haun each carded a round of two-over par 74 and are tied for 10th place at the par-72 Lakes to Marsh Golf Course. Karson Bizzell is in 19th place with a three-over par score of 75, while Kayla Riede's round of four-over par 75 puts her in 26th place.
Rounding out the top-five schools after Austin Peay and Tulsa is Belmont (298), UL-Monroe (299) and Sam Houston State and Houston Baptist tied for fifth place. Austin Peay's Tala Mumford turned in the day's only sub-par round with a two-under par 70 to take a two-shot lead heading into second round play.
Second round action takes place on Tuesday.
