TULSA WOMEN GOLFERS MOVE INTO FIFTH PLACE

Austin, Texas - The Tulsa women golfers moved into fifth place with an even-par 288 behind strong rounds from freshman Jessica Lydia and senior Kristina Merkle in second round action on Monday at the 39th Annual Betsy Rawls Invitational. The Hurricane has a 36-hole total of 10-over par 586 at the par-72 University of Texas Golf Club.
Lydia turned in a four-under par 68 today, while Merkle carded a one-under par 71. Shu-Yin Liu had a score of two-over par 74 on Monday and is in seventh place overall with a two-under par total of 142. Lydia has a score of one-over par 145 for 17th place, while Merkle improved 11 strokes from yesterday's score and has a 153 total for 53rd place.
Lydia turned in four birdies today, while shooting par on the other 14 holes for her four-under par 68 score. Merkle also turned in four birdie putts, but bogeyed three holes for her one-under par score of 71.
Florida, ranked fourth in the country, is tied with 10th-ranked Alabama for the team lead with three-under par scores of 573. Arizona State and Arkansas is tied for third place with an even-par 576, while Tulsa and Texas is in a fifth-place tie at 586.
Florida's Camilla Hedberg and Alabama's Jennifer Kirby are tied for first-place with six-under par scores of 138.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
