Golden Hurricane in 10th Place at Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational

Kahuku, Hawaii - The University of Tulsa women's golf team is in 10th place after two rounds at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational at the par-72 Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii. The Golden Hurricane carded a 298 in the first round and a 303 in today's second round for a 601 total.
UC Davis maintained the top spot even though the Aggies took nine more strokes in the second round with a 290 today for a 571 total. California is six strokes back in second place, while UCLA and Southern California are tied for third place with 581 scores. San Jose State rounds out the top five teams with their 585 36-hole total.
UC Davis' Demi Runas shot a 68 yesterday and a 69 today and claimed the top slot with a 137 score. UCLA's Stephanie Kono and Southern California's Lizette Salas, however, are just one stroke back in a tie for second place.
Kristina Merkle and Marita Engzelius turned in identical 74 scores in today's round, but Merkle's 72 yesterday gives her a 146 total to lead the Golden Hurricane. Shu-Yin Liu has a 150 total for 28th place and Engzelius is in 38th place with a 152 score. Abby Allford is tied for 45th place with a 153 and Sarah Elliot is 88th with a 163 total.
Tulsa will conclude the fall season tomorrow in the final round.
